Positek

P101

Part no.: P101

Key Features

• Body Diameter: 35mm

• Sensor Mounting: M5 Rod Eyes, Body Clamps or M5 ThreadsSpring loaded pushrod option available

• Any stroke from 0-5mm to 0-800mm (e.g. 305mm)

• Sealed to IP65/67 depending on connector/cable option

The P101 is a durable, affordable, high accuracy stand alone linear inductive position sensor designed for use in scientific and industrial applications.

Like all Positek sensors the P101 provides a linear output that is proportional to the displacement. The P101 is very compact and offers an excellent stroke to overall length ratio. Each unit is supplied calibrated to the exact travel required by the customer, for example, if your application requires 10″” (254 mm) measurement then Positek will manufacture the sensor specifically for this length. The mechanical length and calibration will be set up for 254 mm.the P101 is available with any travel from 0-5mm to 0-800mm.

The overall performance, repeat-ability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range. The sensor is very robust, manufactured from stainless steel the P101 has a long service life and strong environmental resistance and is particularly suitable for applications that require good sensor performance in harsh environments such as industrial machinery where cost is important.

The P101 is easy to install with either M5 rod eye or body clamps. The push rod can be supplied captive or free with either M5 thread, M5 rod eye or ball end. The rod can be spring loaded if required in either direction on sensors with a stroke length of up to 300mm. The P101 is available with a wide range of electrical inputs/outputs, sealing up to IP65/IP67 dependent on connector/cable options and fully integrated EMC protection.

LVR, a Temperature Independent Alternative to LVDT’s in Harsh Environments

The LVR sensor (Linear Variable Resonance), is a new patented non-contact linear position sensor that is a potential replacement for the LVDT sensors in harsh environments.

Implementation of SSI Interface

Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) is a widely used serial interface standard for industrial applications especially, rotary encoders. It is a point-to-point connection from a master (e.g. PLC, microcontroller or other control systems) to a slave (e.g. the rotary encoder).

TECHNOLOGY LINEAR SENSORS

Many applications require linear motion to be monitored for system control or to ensure safety. With lengths ranging from 1 m to 30m (3’ to 98’), LINARIX linear sensors are available in many configurations to meet an application’s requirements. Options include a wide variety of outputs (including analog, fieldbus and Ethernet variants), heavy duty housings and compact design.

A Comparison of LVIT & LVDT- Which Linear Sensor is Best?

With the increasing sophistication of electronic controls for mechanical systems, there is more demand for durable, accurate and easy to use displacement sensors. As automation becomes more common there is also an increasing sensitivity to price. Customers also want sensors that can be easily connected and mechanically integrated.
