Part no.: H100
• CSA approved to: Class I, Zone 0
• Sensor Mounting: In-Cylinder Mounting
• Any stroke from 0-5mm to 0-800mm (e.g. 305mm)
• IP65 (connector) / IP67 (cable)
The intrinsically safe H100 is CSA approved for use in potentially explosive gas/vapour and dust atmospheres. It is designed for demanding hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder position feedback applications where service life, environmental resistance and cost are important and is ideal for OEMs seeking good sensor performance for arduous applications in hazardous areas.
Overall performance, repeat-ability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range. The unit is highly compact and space-efficient, being responsive along almost its entire length. Like all Positek sensors, the H100 provides a linear output proportional to displacement. Each unit is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, from 0-5mm to 0-800mm and with full EMC protection built in.
The sensor is very rugged, being made of stainless steel with an inert fluoropolymer-sheathed probe and stainless steel target tube. The sensor is easy to install in cylinders and has a wide range of mechanical options. Environmental sealing is to IP65 or IP67 depending on selected cable or connector options.
Positek intrinsically safe sensors are designed to be used with a galvanically isolated amplifier . Approved galvanic isolation amplifiers (G005) are available from Positek; there is a choice of 0.5-9.5V or 4-20mA transmission outputs.
The sensor can be installed with a cable length up to 1km between the sensor and the amplifier.

Expanded VLP Encoder Series Offers Control Engineers New Sensing Options
Everight Position is pleased to announce the addition of four new sizes of Netzer’s two-plate VLP rotary encoder amongst other improvements. Based on the success of the VLP-60 and VLP-100, the new options include the VLP-80, VLP-140, VLP-170 and VLP-247.
Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) is a widely used serial interface standard for industrial applications between a master (i.g. controller) and a slave (i.g. sensor).
Robonaut 2 (R2) is a state-of-the-art, highly dexterous anthropomorphic robot. The robot is designed to work with humans and has the ability to use the same workspace and tools.
The robot joints incorporate dual encoders for position and torque feedback while performing in a dynamic application, vibration, shocks, and wide temperature range.
TMR: A New Revolution in Magnetic Rotary Encoders
Abstract: Tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) sensing is an exciting new chapter for magnetic-based rotary encoders. Requiring less current, while offering higher signal strength, many of the inherent short comings of Hall Effect based sensors can be addressed.
