Part no.: S115
• Body Diameter: 35mm
• Sensor Mounting: M8 rod eyes, body clamps or M8 threadsSpring loaded pushrod option available
• Available in any measurement angle from 0-5mm to 0-800m
• Sealed to IP68 10bar, 100msw, 145psi(for 350bar sealing see S125)
The 10bar submersible S115 is a heavy-duty version of the submersible S114 sensor with a stronger push rod and fixings, recommended for applications where vibration is an issue or there is a need for longer travel sensors to be mounted horizontally between rod eyes. It remains an affordable, durable, high-accuracy position sensor designed for applications where the sensor would be completely submerged during normal operation, up to a pressure of 10Bar. The unit is highly compact and space-efficient, being responsive along almost its entire length. Like all Positek sensors, the S115 provides a linear output proportional to displacement. Each sensor is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, from 0-5mm to 0-800mm and with full EMC protection built in.
The sensor is very robust, the body and push rod being made of stainless steel for long service life and environmental resistance.
Overall performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range. The sensor is easy to install with mounting options including stainless steel M8 rod eye bearings and body clamps. The push rod can be supplied free or captive, with female M8 thread, or an M8 stainless steel rod eye. The S115 also offers a wide range of mechanical and electrical options, environmental sealing is to IP68 10Bar.
This sensor is waterproof for submersion to 100 meters.

Torque Measurement with Angle Sensors
As collaborative robots expand into manufacturing environments the issue of safe motion continues to be a concern. Current design approaches involve adding force sensors, torque sensors, and sometimes proximity sensors. These adders along with more complex software control algorithms mitigate most of the concerns and result in slower operation. Unfortunately, these additional sensors also add significant cost and complexity.
Rotary Encoders Provide Precision in Space
While they may be small, the role of rotary encoders in spacecraft is vital, demanding a balance between performance, reliability, and the unforgiving environment of space. From NASA’s Robonaut II to automated material handling systems on the International Space Station, Everight has worked with engineers to put rotary encoders into ‘the final frontier.’
Many applications require linear motion to be monitored for system control or to ensure safety. With lengths ranging from 1 m to 30m (3’ to 98’), LINARIX linear sensors are available in many configurations to meet an application’s requirements. Options include a wide variety of outputs (including analog, fieldbus and Ethernet variants), heavy duty housings and compact design.
Submersible Linear Sensors: High-Accuracy Solutions for Harsh Environments Introduction to Submersible Linear Sensors Positek’s portfolio includes a range of high-accuracy linear sensors specifically designed for use in submersible applications. Made from marine-grade stainless steel and offering reliability beyond what is possible from a submersible LVDT or linear potentiometer, our sensors have served various industries, including […]
