Positek

M133

Part no.: M133

Key Features

• ATEX/IECEx approved for mining

• Sensor Mounting: Flange or body clampsSpring loaded pushrod option available

• Available in any measurement range from 0-51mm to 0-100mm(for 2-50mm range see P103)

• Sealed to IP65/67 depending on connector/cable option

The intrinsically safe M133 is ATEX and IECEx approved for use in potentially explosive gas/vapour, dust atmospheres and mining environments. It is designed for a wide range of industrial applications and is ideal for OEMs seeking good sensor performance in situations where a mid-bodied sensor is required for operation in hazardous areas. The unit is compact and space-efficient, being responsive along almost its entire length, and like all Positek sensors provides a linear output proportional to displacement. Each unit is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, from 0-51mm to 0-100mm and with full EMC protection built in.

Overall performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range.

The sensor has a rugged stainless steel body and plunger. It is easy to install and set up, mounting options include flange and body clamps. The plunger can be supplied free or captive, with female M4 thread, or spring-loaded with a ball end. The M133 also offers a wide range of mechanical options, environmental sealing is to IP65 or IP67 depending on selected cable or connector options.

Positek intrinsically safe sensors are designed to be used with a galvanically isolated amplifier. Approved galvanic isolation amplifiers (X005) are available from Positek; there is a choice of 0.5-9.5V or 4-20mA transmission outputs.

The sensor can be installed with a cable length up to 1km between the sensor and the amplifier.

NASA- Robonaut 2

Robonaut 2 (R2) is a state-of-the-art, highly dexterous anthropomorphic robot. The robot is designed to work with humans and has the ability to use the same workspace and tools.

The robot joints incorporate dual encoders for position and torque feedback while performing in a dynamic application, vibration, shocks, and wide temperature range.

Wiegand Effect Energy Harvesting

The “Wiegand effect” was discovered almost fifty years ago and has been used successfully in several specialized applications. However, its full potential for energy harvesting and signal generation has received only limited recognition. With recent enhancements to the energy output from Wiegand devices and the emergence of a new generation of ultra-efficient electronic chips for wireless communications, the technology is showing significant promise, especially in the exciting new area of the Internet of Things (IoT). UBITO, a member of the FRABA Group of technology companies, is leading research and development projects aimed at fulfilling this promise.

Trumeter Process Meter

There is a lot of talk about ‘data’ these days. But what can be just important as the data is how you communicate it.

How Getting Older is Changing Robotics

While it may be noble to develop robotics to help older demographics in society, companies small and large alike have good business reasons to do so.   Roughly 10,000 Baby Boomers retire daily. These consumers not only have wants and needs but have worked their whole lives to create a nest egg to fund them. […]
