Part no.: X115
• ATEX/IECEx approved to: Ex II 1G : Ex ia IIC T4 GA (Ta = -40°C to +80°C)
• Sensor Mounting: M8 rod eyes, body clamps or M8 threadsSpring loaded pushrod option available
• Available in any measurement angle from 0-5mm to 0-800m
• Sealed to IP68 10bar, 100msw, 145psi(for 350bar sealing see S125)
The intrinsically safe 10 bar X115 is a heavy-duty ATEX and IECEx approved version of the X114 sensor with a stronger 12.6mm push rod, recommended for applications where vibration is an issue or there is a need for longer travel sensors are to be mounted horizontally between rod eyes. It remains an affordable, durable, high-accuracy position sensor designed for applications whereIP68 sealing is required up to a pressure of 10Bar. The unit is highly compact and space-efficient, being responsive along almost its entire length. Like all Positek sensors, the X115 provides a linear output proportional to displacement. Each sensor is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, from 0-5mm to 0-800mm and with full EMC protection built in.
The sensor is very robust, the body and push rod being made of stainless steel for long service life and environmental resistance.
Overall performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range. The sensor is easy to install with mounting options including stainless steel M8 rod eye bearings and body clamps. The push rod can be supplied free or captive, with female M8 thread, or an M8 stainless steel rod eye. The X115 also offers a wide range of mechanical and electrical options, environmental sealing is to IP68 10Bar.
Positek intrinsically safe sensors are designed to be used with a galvanically isolated amplifier . Approved galvanic isolation amplifiers (X005) are available from Positek; there is a choice of 0.5-9.5V or 4-20mA transmission outputs.
The sensor can be installed with a cable length up to 1km between the sensor and the amplifier.

Introduction to Intrinsically Safe Sensors
Intrinsically safe (IS) sensors are unable to produce a spark strong enough to cause ignition. Learn how this is accomplished and design considerations when using IS sensors.
Technical Note: Intrinsically Safe vs. Inherently Safe Sensors
Intrinsically safe (IS) sensors are designed to operate safely in hazardous areas where there is a risk of explosion. IS sensors limit the amount of electrical and thermal energy that can be released in the event of a fault, to a level below that which is capable of igniting flammable gases, vapors, or dust.
When COTS Isn’t Enough: Why You Need a NIST 800.171 Compliant Supplier Like Everight Position
The COTS Conundrum: In today’s digital landscape, Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) sensors seem like an easy button for compliances purposes. They’re readily available, cost-effective, and offer familiar functionality. But when it comes to identifying strategic suppliers, COTS alone isn’t enough.
