Positek

P130

Part no.: P130

Key Features

• Body Diameter: 35mm

• Sensor Mounting: In-cylinder

• Available in any measurement range from 0-400mm to 0-1485mm

• Sealed to IP65/67 depending on connector/cable option

The P130 sensor is an affordable, durable, high accuracy long stroke linear position sensor specifically designed for use in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders where long life and cost are important. The P130 linear sensor is particularly suitable for OEM customers who require good performance in hard environments such as industrial machinery.
Performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a large temperature range. This compact and particularly space efficient sensor is responsive along almost its entire length.

As with all of Positek’s sensors the customer can specify the exact length that they require to measure and Positek will manufacture the unit specifically for that length and supply the unit calibrated.

The P130 sensor is available with any length of electrical travel ranging anywhere from 0-400mm to 0-1485mm. For example, if your application requires 40″” (1016 mm) measurement then Positek will manufacture the sensor specifically for this length. The mechanical length and calibration will be set up for 1016 mm. The P130 is housed inside a stainless steel body and the probe coil is encased within a flouropolymer sheath, both of which offer good protection for this rugged sensor.

The sensor is easily installed in the cylinder using one of the thread options. The P130 is sealed to IP65 or IP67 depending on the selected cable or connector options.

The sensor has integrated EMC protection to EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-3.

The P130 is well suited for high pressure hydraulic environments up to 350 bar and is rated over the temperature range -40°C to 125°C or -20° to +85° depending on the electronics option.

How Getting Older is Changing Robotics

While it may be noble to develop robotics to help older demographics in society, companies small and large alike have good business reasons to do so.   Roughly 10,000 Baby Boomers retire daily. These consumers not only have wants and needs but have worked their whole lives to create a nest egg to fund them. […]

NASA Lunabotics Challenge

Nearly fifty University Teams recently gathered in Florida for the NASA Lunabotics Challenge. The robots are tasked with driving, digging, and depositing regolith—the fragmented rock material that covers the moon’s surface—in a lunar simulant. Beyond robotics and mechatronics, the program teaches team work, project management and industry collaboration.

What is a multiturn rotary encoder?

A multiturn rotary encoder is a sensor that measures the angle of rotation of a shaft, as well as the number of complete revolutions that the shaft has made. This is in contrast to a single-turn encoder, which only measures the angle of rotation, 0 – 360°. Multiturn encoders are used in a variety of applications where it is important to track the position of a moving object, such as in machine tools, robotics, and automation systems.
