P100

Part no.: P100

Key Features

• Body Diameter: 35mm

• Sensor Mounting: In-Cylinder Mounting

• Any stroke from 0-5mm to 0-800mm (e.g. 305mm)

• IP65 (connector) / IP67 (cable)

The P100 sensor is an affordable, durable, high accuracy linear position sensor specifically designed for use in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders where long life and cost are important. The P100 linear sensor is particularly suitable for OEM customers who require good performance in hard environments such as industrial machinery.
Performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a large temperature range. This compact and particularly space efficient sensor is responsive along almost its entire length.

As with all of Positek’s sensors the customer can specify the exact length that they require to measure and Positek will manufacture the unit specifically for that length and supply the unit calibrated.

The P100 sensor is available with any length of electrical travel ranging anywhere from 0-5mm to 0-800mm. For example, if your application requires 10″” (254 mm) measurement then Positek will manufacture the sensor specifically for this length. The mechanical length and calibration will be set up for 254 mm. The P100 is housed inside a stainless steel body and the probe coil is encased within a flouropolymer sheath, both of which offer good protection for this rugged sensor.

The sensor is easily installed in the cylinder using one of the thread options. The P100 is sealed to IP65 or IP67 depending on the selected cable or connector options.

The sensor has integrated EMC protection to EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-3.

The P100 is well suited for high pressure hydraulic environments up to 350 bar and is rated over the temperature range -40°C to 125°C or -20° to +85° depending on the electronics option.

Implementation of SSI Interface

Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) is a widely used serial interface standard for industrial applications especially, rotary encoders. It is a point-to-point connection from a master (e.g. PLC, microcontroller or other control systems) to a slave (e.g. the rotary encoder).

Osico Oil-Mon Oil Quality Sensor

Particle Contamination, Water Contamination and Oxidation.  Any one of these nuisances can spell disaster for lube oil.  Of course, you run a lab oil analysis program so you know periodically what these levels are in a machine.  But what if you could monitor these parameters in real time? Osico Oil-Mon is a 4-in-1 oil quality […]

Intrinsically safe (IS) sensors are unable to produce a spark strong enough to cause ignition. Learn how this is accomplished and design considerations when using IS sensors.

Facing the Inevitable: Sensor Obsolescence, Mitigation Strategies, and Alternatives

Obsolescence. If its only difficulty was remembering how it is spelled it wouldn’t be so bad. And whether you’re trying to replace a sensor that has failed with age or are a manufacturer who can no longer source an important sensor, obsolescence of an inexpensive sensor can create extremely expensive headache. At Everight Position we help customers to understand the causes of sensor obsolescence, explore mitigation strategies and find alternative solutions.
