Part no.: X120
• ATEX/IECEx approved to: Ex II 1G : Ex ia IIC T4 GA (Ta = -40°C to +80°C)
• Sensor Mounting: M18 or 3/4" UNF threadTarget tube flanges available
• Available in any measurement angle from 0-5mm to 0-800mm
• Sealed to IP68 350bar, 3500msw, 5000psi(combined hydraulic and water pressure)
The 350bar X120 is an ATEX and IECEx approved version of the S120 cylinder sensor. The X120 is sealed for a maximum of 350bar combined hydraulic and water pressure. The unit is compact, space-efficient and responsive along almost its entire length.
Like all Positek sensors, the X120 provides a linear output proportional to displacement. Each sensor is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, our standard range covers any measurement range from 0-5mm to 0-800mm. As with all of our packaged sensors full EMC protection is built in.
The sensor is very robust, the body and target tube are made of 316 stainless steel for long service life and environmental resistance.
Overall performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range. The sensor is easy to install with M18 or 3/4″” UNF mounting thread options. The target tube can be supplied plain or with a variety of flanges.
This sensor is waterproof for submersion to 3500 meters (350bar combined water and hydraulic pressure).
Positek intrinsically safe sensors are designed to be used with a galvanically isolated amplifier . Approved galvanic isolation amplifiers (X005) are available from Positek; there is a choice of 0.5-9.5V or 4-20mA transmission outputs.
The sensor can be installed with a cable length up to 1km between the sensor and the amplifier.
Approval only applies to the specified ambient temperature range and atmospheric conditions in the range 0.80 to 1.10 Bar, oxygen <=21%.

Robust IncOders that Are Right for Your Application
Zettlex IncOders are non-contact devices for precision angle measurement. They work like a transformer, using an inductive technique. IncOders may be considered as an inductive angle encoder. IncOders are ideally suited to harsh environments – where potentiometers, optical or capacitive devices may prove unreliable.
Intrinsically Safe Absolute Rotary Encoders
In the most hazardous environments, where an explosive atmosphere consisting of flammable gas or vapor is regularly present and a sensor fault cannot be risked, Intrinsically Safe (IS) sensors may be the best sensing option. Generally, these sensors are paired with a barrier which limits the amount of electrical and thermal energy that can enter the Hazardous Area to an amount that is so small that even in the situation of a sensor fault, there is not enough energy to cause an ignition.
Surge relief is an important component in many liquid handling systems. Whether it be a pipeline, storage terminal or loading station, these systems help to protect people and the environment around it.
A Comparison of LVIT & LVDT- Which Linear Sensor is Best?
With the increasing sophistication of electronic controls for mechanical systems, there is more demand for durable, accurate and easy to use displacement sensors. As automation becomes more common there is also an increasing sensitivity to price. Customers also want sensors that can be easily connected and mechanically integrated.
